Burlington Technical Center and Burlington High School are proud to recognize four students for being awarded as Vermont Presidential Scholars. All four students attend classes
Students who speak multiple languages and are learning English while studying at BTC can get extra support before, during, and after BTC classes. BTC offers EL students in and out-of-class support, guided study labs, differentiated curriculum, and individualized learning strategies to support academic achievement and help students work toward their personal, academic, and career goals.
In-class support: A BTC EL Teacher works alongside students during their BTC class to monitor comprehension, use learning tools like visuals and graphic organizers, and support students during projects and hands-on learning.
BTC EL Support Labs: Students can attend BTC EL Support Labs, an additional class session to reinforce program vocabulary, concepts, and skills, and give extra opportunities to apply what they are learning during BTC classes.
Future Planning Lab: Students are invited to this drop-in group for individualized support around post-secondary goals and plans, job searching, and preparing for college or careers.
