Students at Burlington Technical Center (BTC) receive a wide range of supports to help them succeed academically and professionally. This includes individualized academic assistance, such as tutoring and personalized instruction, to meet the demands of both technical and academic coursework. BTC also provides career counseling to align students’ education with their career goals and connect them to real-world opportunities through local partnerships.
Multilingual students receive specialized support from English language teachers who provide tailored instruction and collaborate with content instructors to integrate language learning into technical training. Additionally, BTC emphasizes social and emotional well-being and resources to create an inclusive environment.
For families needing additional support, we encourage you to reach out—our staff is here to help ensure every student has what they need to thrive.

Emily Kayoi
English Language Teacher
Emily hopes students feel relaxed and supported when they work with her, and her favorite part of teaching is seeing how student work evolves over time. “The work students are producing shows incredible growth and is a testament to how skilled, creative, thoughtful, and resilient these students are. It’s always exciting to see where students’ talents take them!”
Yvonne Sonada
English Language Teacher
This year, Yvonne has been working primarily with students in the Aviation and Engineering programs. One of the highlights of her position has been accompanying students on trips to visit manufacturers in the area, seeing the students get excited about the interesting work that the companies do, and hearing the students ask questions. She looks forward to seeing what students will choose to do next with all of the skills and knowledge they are developing while at BTC.
