BTC Health Sciences Academy presents a donation to the Vermont Children’s Hospital
This past fall, the Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA) held a membership drive, and any chapter with one hundred percent membership participation was eligible for a donation to the charity of their choice. Our Health Sciences Academy (HSA) was able to achieve this goal, and our students chose to donate to the Vermont Children’s Hospital this year. This week, students from HSA visited the hospital and presented a check to the Vermont Children’s Hospital fundraising team. Students learned about the impacts of philanthropic giving, and how their donation will support programming and care for the hospital’s young patients.
Alumnus Visit!
We love alumni visits! There’s nothing better than catching up with former students, and hearing about their lives and accomplishments.

Vermont Career and Technical Education (CTE) Listening Session
January 12th 6:00pm-7:30pm at Burlington Technical Center, 110 Cherry Street, Burlington, VT.
**If you are unable to make the session in person, please share your thoughts on this survey: tinyurl.com/3e9vmcuv.
As part of a study on the governance and funding of CTE being conducted for the Vermont Legislature, Augenblick, Palaich and Associates (APA) is inviting all CTE stakeholders (educators, families, students, business and industry representatives, community members) to join a listening session and share their feedback with the study team.
The listening sessions will provide an open forum for stakeholders to share their thoughts on how well the CTE system in Vermont is serving students and the workforce, and to identify potential areas for improvement. The study team is interested in hearing any feedback on the CTE system, including:
- How well does the system meet the needs of students? To what extent are students able to access programs of interest to them? What barriers to student access exist?
- How well does the system meet the needs of local businesses and industries? Are there barriers that prevent the system from being responsive to industry needs?
- Do stakeholders have appropriate opportunities to provide input on the CTE system?
- Are there barriers to enrollment in CTE, early college and/or dual enrollment?
- Is the CTE system sufficiently funded?
- How could the CTE system be improved to better serve students and the workforce?
Please contact Jason Reed at jreed@bsdvt.org or (802) 864-8426 ext. 12003 if you have questions. If you are unable to make the session in person, please share your thoughts on this survey: tinyurl.com/3e9vmcuv.
